Gratitude to the desert and tribute to nature

On October 23rd, 2021, Sandriver, a high-end art cashmere brand, held its Fall/Winter 2021 fashion show at The Cool Docks in Shanghai. With the theme of "Desert-Dawn", the show kicked off the second chapter of the brand's "Zero" series "Heaven, Earth and Human Trilogy", interpreting the new season's cashmere ready-to-wear with the new season's cashmere garments, Sandriver interpreted the natural law of "the desert gives birth to all things, and all things on earth know the dawn is coming", giving thanks to the desert and paying tribute to all things in heaven and earth.

For this show, Sandriver once again chose the location of its Shanghai flagship store, The Cool Docks, to bring the distant Inner Mongolia desert scenery to the bustling city and paved the entire runway with sand grains from the Inner Mongolia desert. The audience was immersed in the rolling desert and enjoyed an immersive experience. The poplar tree standing proudly in the center of the runway was embellished with colorful cashmere yarns and cashmere raw fleece, signifying the most tenacious existence of the dry desert and a symbol of the vibrant life of the desert.

[Sunrise in the Desert, Awe of Nature]

Sandriver's "Zero" cashmere collection this season is inspired by the sunrise moment in Inner Mongolia, the birthplace of the brand. When the warm orange color breaks the cold blue between the desert and the long sky, it forms a perfect gradient halo, as if the earth is instantly wrapped with warmth.

Sandriver's designers and textile craftsmen interpreted the colors of the desert dawn on cashmere clothing through the cashmere dip-dyeing process. Sandstone orange, warm sand color, desert night blue and other desert colors are the main colors of this season, and the comfortable silhouette brings a gentle sense of inclusion, and the deflated velvet feeling of handmade felt caresses like sunlight, transmitting the temperature from the desert winter to everything in heaven and earth.

[Nomadic civilization, artisan spirit]

The art of hand-sculpting cashmere (cashmere felt) is still the main craft of this season. Sandriver's continuous interpretation and reinvention of the ancient nomadic handicraft not only maintains the uniqueness of the traditional ethnic skills, but also revives them in the "diamond fiber" like cashmere, which is once again integrated into the contemporary life.

At the same time, Sandriver has also created a cashmere art space, in which huge hand-woven lanterns are exhibited, following the traditional Mongolian New Year custom; while the giant handmade cashmere blanket, which took several craftsmen in the workshop a month to make by hand, thoroughly restores the technique of nomadic tribal felting, and the dots are created in the form of artistic painting, with soft colors and the uniqueness of cashmere loose wool fiber. It is not only a work of art, but also a masterpiece of the brand's "Zero-Waste" philosophy.

[Practitioner and pioneer of sustainable concept]

Since 2020, Sandriver has launched a new "Zero" collection of cashmere garments, which upholds the brand's sustainable attitude since its inception, committing to the 100% use of raw materials in the production of each season's cashmere garments, and practicing the "Zero-Waste ". In October of the same year, Sandriver held its "Nomadic Dance" fashion show at The Cool Docks, Shanghai, which was the first appearance of the brand's "Zero" collection in tribute to nature, the "Heaven, Earth and Human Trilogy. As a continuation of the concept of the collection, this year's "Desert - Dawn" Autumn/Winter show also carries out Sandriver's insistence on the concept of sustainability and "Zero Waste”, giving back to nature and embracing the vitality of life with practical actions.
